UPDATE: Carnival Cruise Line has made changes to cruise itineraries:
– Carnival Horizon will not visit Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands on Wednesday, July 3.
– Carnival Liberty will visit Cozumel, Mexico on Tuesday, July 2 instead of Friday, July 5, which will now be a day at sea. The port stop in Belize on July 4 has been canceled.
Carnival Cruise Line stated, โThe safety of our guests and crew is paramount, and we are continuing to monitor forecasts and guidance from authorities to provide timely updates.โ
ORIGINAL ARTICLE: Hurricane Beryl has formed and is forecasted to enter the Caribbean this week. It is now a major hurricane with winds of 130 mph.
Hurricane Beryl’s impact on cruise ships:
– Barbados, St. Lucia, Grenada, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Tobago are under a hurricane warning. The storm is expected to pass over or near these islands on Monday.
– No cruise ships are scheduled to visit these islands in the next four days.
– Hurricane Beryl is expected to pass south of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands before heading towards Mexico. Forecasted models may change.
