Dining Room or Restaurant: It’s a Cruiser’s Choice

Carnival Cruise Line is debating whether to call their main dining rooms restaurants instead. John Heald, a brand ambassador, has been under pressure to make the switch.

“I am always under pressure from a few beards to stop calling the dining room a dining room and move to the ‘official’ term of restaurant,” Heald explained on Facebook.

Some ships already use restaurant terminology, like the Carnivale Restaurant and Festivale Restaurant on Carnival Celebration.

Cruiser Loses Battle For Shore Excursion Refund

A cruiser on Carnival Legend lost more than $400 when bad weather cancelled a Greenland port call. The guest was unable to get a refund for a tour booked with a local company.

Attempts to dispute the charge with credit card companies were unsuccessful as the tour became non-refundable post-booking.

Bingo Winners Enjoy a Major Suite Upgrade on Azamara

Winners on Azamara Quest won a stay in the World Owner’s Suite during a cruise to Antarctica. The suite is the top onboard accommodation and features luxury amenities.

A TikTok post detailing the suite has garnered over 688,000 views.

Disney Dream Cancels One Port Call in Iceland

Disney Dream’s Iceland port call was cancelled due to ongoing work at the Port of Isafjordur. The itinerary change impacted a 12-night Norwegian Fjords and Iceland cruise.

The cruise line is adding a call to Liverpool, England, as a replacement for the cancelled port.

Cruise Line Adds Three World Cruise Segments

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is offering world cruise segments onboard the Bolette, ranging from 21 to 56 nights. These segments are part of a 106-night world voyage departing from Southampton, UK.

The segments take guests to South America, Australia, and Africa, with diverse itinerary offerings.

Cargo Ship’s Port Entry Prompts Cruise Ship to Leave Early

Royal Caribbean’s Symphony of the Seas left port early to avoid an incoming cargo ship at Bayonne Harbor. The earlier departure time did not impact any other aspect of the cruise.

Guests were informed of the change in departure time to ensure a smooth sailing experience.
