UPDATE: Aydin Brown has been found safe!

A 14-year-old American boy, Aydin Brown, is missing in the cruise port of Rostock-Warnemünde in northern Germany after leaving the Caribbean Princess on July 4, 2024.

Brown, who is autistic, traveled with his grandmother on the Princess Cruises ship. It’s unclear if he left the ship with her or independently when it docked in port.

Described as wearing a dark jacket, dark pants, and retro shoes, Brown was last seen around 7-7:30 a.m. The Rostock police report mentioned that he has long dark hair and is 5′ 7″ tall.

Surveillance footage from the Warnemünde train station shows Brown with an unknown witness. Police urge the witness, a slim person with very long braided hair, to come forward to help locate Brown.

Authorities suspect Brown may have possibly made contact with the gaming scene in Germany based on initial investigations. The witness is not a suspect but is asked for information on Brown’s whereabouts.

Caribbean Princess, the cruise ship, began a 12-night journey from Southampton, UK, visiting ports in Denmark, Sweden, Lithuania, and Norway before returning to Southampton on July 12.

In other incidents, missing passengers have been separated from their families in busy ports. Efforts to locate missing individuals have sometimes resulted in happy reunions, while some cases remain unresolved, like a man with dementia missing in Cozumel.

Our thoughts are with Aydin Brown’s family and friends, and we hope he is found safe soon.
