Cozumel, Mexico, a popular cruise destination in the Western Caribbean, is reopening to cruise ships today after Hurricane Beryl passed through.

Carnival Cruise Line’s Brand Ambassador John Heald shared an update on Cozumel on his Facebook page. He mentioned that Carnival’s partners on the island have assessed the situation post-storm and confirmed that Carnival ships can visit Cozumel starting today. Although Hurricane Beryl had minimal impact, there may be some debris as they clean up.

Captain Castrogiovanni of Carnival Valor also provided a message about Cozumel’s status. He informed passengers that they are cleared to visit the island and mentioned the schedule for arrival and departure. Passengers were advised to be back on board by a certain time and that additional information would be provided in a letter.

Today, three cruise ships, including Carnival Valor, Carnival Paradise, and Mariner of the Seas, are scheduled to visit Cozumel, with no ships scheduled for Sunday.

Additionally, Carnival confirmed that there are no changes to itineraries for ships leaving this weekend. Carnival Sunrise out of Long Beach, California, will have a slightly delayed embarkation due to a U.S. Coast Guard inspection.

Cozumel is a popular cruise port in the Caribbean, with most Western Caribbean sailings including a stop at the island.
