Holland America Unveils Exciting Cruise Promotion

Holland America Line has unveiled their latest promotion, “Save on Sunshine,” designed to entice travelers to book winter cruises. Starting on July 19, 2024, this offer provides up to 40 percent off fares, free prepaid crew appreciation, and 50 percent reduced deposits.

This special promotion is available for select departures from September 2024 to April 2025, and bookings must be made by August 20, 2024.

“Soon enough winter weather will have us all dreaming about cruising to warmer destinations, and with the Save on Sunshine offer, travelers can plan a tropical vacation now and take advantage of extra savings and amenities,” said Beth Bodensteiner, chief commercial officer for Holland America Line.

This offer is available on nearly 300 cruises, encompassing a variety of destinations such as the Caribbean, Mexico, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, the Pacific Coast, South America, Hawaii, and the Panama Canal.

The promotion also includes voyages to Antarctica, winter holiday cruises, and back-to-back Collectors’ Voyages. Cruises range from 4 to 58 days, but it excludes Grand Voyages and those lasting three days or less.

The Save on Sunshine promotion can be combined with the “Have It All” premium fare, which comes with four high-value amenities like shore excursions, signature beverage packages, specialty dining, and the Wi-Fi Surf Package.

Winter and Holiday Destinations

Holland America Line operates a fleet of 11 ships, with five sailing in the Caribbean this winter.

Guests can depart from Fort Lauderdale aboard the 2,104-passenger ms Eurodam, the 2,106-passenger ms Nieuw Amsterdam, and the 2,666-passenger ms Nieuw Statendam. The 2,668-passenger ms Rotterdam and 2,272-passenger ms Zuiderdam will offer Caribbean routes from Miami.

The 1,331-passenger ms Koningsdam will take passengers through the Panama Canal on a special repositioning cruise from San Diego, California, to Fort Lauderdale in November, before sailing in the Caribbean for the winter. Prior to this, the ship will offer short cruises to Santa Barbara, Catalina Island, and Ensenada, Mexico, from San Diego in late October and early November.

Special holiday cruises in the Caribbean will be available on ms Koningsdam, ms Nieuw Statendam, and ms Zuiderdam. Both ms Koningsdam and ms Zuiderdam will celebrate Christmas at sea and welcome the New Year in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, while ms Nieuw Statendam will be in Cozumel, Mexico, on Christmas Day and in Puerto Plata/Amber Cove, Dominican Republic, on New Year’s Eve.

The 1,432-passenger ms Zaandam will stay on the Pacific Coast in November and December before embarking on a Grand Voyage in January 2025. Homeported in San Diego, the ship will visit various destinations in Mexico, including Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta.

Further south, the 1,964-passenger ms Oosterdam and 1,432-passenger ms Volendam will navigate South America, including voyages to Antarctica. A 22-night cruise on ms Oosterdam from Buenos Aires, Argentina, will take passengers to the southernmost continent during the holidays, concluding in San Antonio, Chile, on January 9, 2025.

In the land Down Under, the 1,972-passenger ms Noordam will offer roundtrip voyages from Sydney, Australia, to various destinations in Australia and New Zealand, including a holiday sailing that covers both Christmas and New Year’s at sea.

Asian itineraries are available aboard the 1,964-passenger ms Westerdam, which will homeport in Hong Kong and Singapore, offering journeys to the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia. A holiday voyage includes stops in Bali for Christmas, Semarang for New Year’s Eve, and Jakarta on New Year’s Day.
