Mariner of the Seas Refurbished and Returns to Port Canaveral
For those of us who, years ago, sailed aboard Mariner of the Seas from Port Canaveral, you know what that this is a special ship.
Mariner of the Seas once again sails into Port Canaveral, following an incredible $120 million makeover in 2018 and a minor refurbishment this year. The 3,114-passenger ship will homeport at Port Canaveral until April 2024.
Included in the 2018 multi-million dollar Mariner of the Seas refurbishment were new entertainment venues, eateries, staterooms enhancements and challenging activities.
Mariner of the Seas Returns to Port Canaveral
Launched in 2003, with an increased passenger capacity of 3,114, Mariner of the Seas is now cruising 4-,5-,6- and 8-night itineraries from Port Canaveral.
Mariner of the Seas array of varying itineraries are 4- and 5-night Bahamas and western Caribbean cruises through Spring and early Summer. Then, once schools are out, the ship ramps up to 6- and 8-night Caribbean cruises through late August before resuming the shorter cruises again.
New Activities Added During “Re-Amplification”

Mariner’s New Food and Beverage Choices
- The Bamboo Room – A laidback Polynesian watering hole with a throwback vibe and kitschy-cool craft cocktails like the Island Old Fashioned and Tiki Tea – the first in Royal Caribbean’s fleet
- Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade – For fans watching their home team on one of more than 25 TV screens, making their own legendary plays at the arcade, or refueling on game-day favorites
- Jamie’s Italian – Serving fresh, handmade and rustic Italian fare by Chef Jamie Oliver, one of Britain’s most famous food exports
- Izumi Hibachi and Sushi – Asian-inspired dining featuring hibachi, sushi and sashimi and more – made to order with authentic flavors, the freshest ingredients and impeccable presentation

Mariner of the Seas refurbishment is part of Royal Caribbean’s $900 million commitment to renovate its fleet through a project called Royal Amplified. The project spans 10 ships in four years, from experiential dining and nightlife concepts, first-of-its-kind attractions plus refreshing soft goods and public areas.
