Carnival Cruise Line Plans to Resume Cruising in August
Carnival has announced their plan to resume service towards the end this summer. Called a “phase in a resumption in our North American service,” Carnival Cruise Line will have only a handful of ships to start cruising as of August 1. At least, that’s the plan for right now.
Not all Carnival ships can resume a return to service, however, as departures are limited from only three ports. Out of Carnival Cruise Line’s 27 ships, only eight are scheduled to resume service this summer.
All other cruise departures will continue the current pause in service. This includes all North American and Australian cruises that were scheduled to depart through August 31.

In a note from Carnival Cruise Line sent to travel agents and potential guests, the cruise line unveiled the latest plan to get their ships out of lay-up and get passengers on board once again. Beginning on August 1, a total of eight ships will cruise from Miami, Galveston and Port Canaveral.

- Miami: Carnival Horizon, Carnival Magic and Carnival Sensation
- Port Canaveral: Carnival Breeze and Carnival Elation

Carnival Alaska Cruises and Hawaii Cruises
All cruises to Alaska aboard Carnival Spirit from Seattle are canceled. The same goes for the end of season Carnival Spirit Vancouver to Honolulu cruise on September 25 followed by the Honolulu to Brisbane, Australia transpacific cruise departing on October 6.
As mentioned, all Carnival Splendor cruises from Australia have been cancelled from June 19 to August 31.
For those who were booked on one of the canceled cruises, Carnival is offering two options. The first is a double-deal with a future cruise credit combined with an on board credit. The other choice is a full refund.
Guests can choose their selection online at Carnival.com, and bypass a possible long hold-time waiting on a phone call to customer service.
