Holland America’s Club Orange Offers Private Dining and More
Holland America’s new Club Orange
Holland America just announced their new Club Orange program and the perks that come with it. For guests who book Neptune and Pinnacle suites, Club Orange is intended to enhance their cruise experience with a dedicated concierge, a private dining venue, priority access plus other amenities.
While the Club Orange program is complimentary for Neptune and Pinnacle guests, those who reserve a non-suite stateroom will have the opportunity to purchase a Club Orange upgrade. It will include the same benefits and amenities as the suites’ guests. Caveat: there will be only a limited number of Club Orange purchase options available to non-suite passengers.
Club Orange gets it name from Holland America Line’s origin as a Dutch shipping company, over 145 years ago. If you’ve ever been to The Netherlands when their soccer team is playing, everyone in the country seems to be dressed in orange clothes. Why? The royal family is from the House of Orange and orange is the national color.
The program is slated to launch on Koningsdam and Nieuw Statendam in December 2018, with a rollout to the rest of the fleet in 2019.

Private Dining
Aboard Koningsdam and Nieuw Statendam, the Culinary Arts Center dining venue will become the exclusive Club Orange restaurant. Open for breakfast and dinner every day, it will feature the same Main Dining Room menu at dinner plus special Club Orange-only items. If you love Holland America’s MDR dinners, you won’t miss out on your favorites and you’ll have more options, too.

Only the Koningsdam and Nieuw Statendam have a Culinary Arts Center dining venue to be converted. So as Club Orange goes fleet-wide, a separate section of the Main Dining Room will be used only for Club Orange guests for breakfast and dinner. Reservations for the exclusive dining area are not required.
Priority Access
Who doesn’t love being at the head of a line. Club Orange guests receive priority check-in and disembarkation, priority tender service and priority alternative restaurant reservations made on board. Guest Services and the EXC Tour Desk will have a separate line for Club Orange guests. They will also have access to a concierge hotline for dining reservations, shore excursion assistance and whatever questions arise.
Culinary bennies, too
Additional benefits to being in Club Orange include a special room service à la carte breakfast dining menu with complimentary upgrade for steak and eggs or smoked salmon Benedict. On the first night, at dinner there will be a welcome glass of sparkling wine, a premium bathrobe in your closet for use during the cruise plus an exclusive take-home Club Orange tote bag.
Cost of Club Orange for non-suite guests
To opt-in to Club Orange will cost $50 per person per day. In double occupancy staterooms both the first and second guest in the same stateroom must purchase the program. Club Orange is included for third and fourth guests in the same stateroom.
Solo passengers will only pay the $50 per person per day to opt-in to the exclusive program. Club Orange must be purchased prior to cruise departure and is not available for purchase on board.

Cruise Maven’s thoughts on Club Orange
First, as a solo cruiser and one who hasn’t sailed in Neptune or Pinnacle class, not to have to pay double to purchase Club Orange is awesome. Second, if you cruise a bit, having a private dining area for breakfast and dinner might sound fabulous. Again, as a solo, I would think that this would be a great way to meet a smaller group of fellow passengers and maybe an easier way to find new friends early in the cruise.
