Scarlet Lady Adds Squid Ink Studio for exclusive tattoos at sea.

If you’ve ever even considered getting a really unique tattoo, this might be the cruise for you. Virgin Voyages has announced that their first ship, Scarlet Lady, will offer tattoos at sea at their new Squid Ink studio.

Partnering with World Famous Tattoo Ink, Virgin Voyages’ Squid Ink will have two full-time resident tattoo artists on board. Leading the ink pros is Lou Rubino Jr., visionary for World Famous Tattoo Ink.

โ€œTattooing is a time-honored seafaring tradition, and weโ€™re continuing that legacy with rock and roll style by bringing some of the best ink artists to sea,โ€ said Tom McAlpin, president and chief executive officer for Virgin Voyages. โ€œOur sailors are looking to make lifelong memories, and we think there’s no better way to commemorate their first voyage with us than with a souvenir they’ll never lose track of.โ€

When Scarlet Lady debuts in 2020, Squid Ink will feature celebrity guest tattoo artists during the cruise. At this time, the lineup includes Spike TVโ€™s Ink Master star Sarah Miller, surrealist specialist artist Arlo DiCristina and illustrative specialist Jime Litwalk.

Only vegan ink

All Squid Ink tattoos will use World Famous Tattoo Ink original vegan ink. The company creates their inks with no animal by-products or testing. Besides tattoos, you can also get body piercings. You can also have permanent makeup tattooed with vegan-friendly Perma Blend pigments. In a logical move, Virgin Voyages will permit crew members to display their tattoos, something most other cruise lines do not allow.
