The beautiful Mexican Riviera is back on Carnival’s cruise itineraries. The recently enhanced Spirit-class ship, Carnival Miracle will start the 7-night Mexican itineraries from Long Beach, California on October 4, 2014. Included on the 7-night itineraries will be an overnight stay in Puerto Vallarta and a day visit to Cabo San Lucas. Mazatlan is also added to several special three-port itineraries in 2016.

Carnival Miracle was recently brought up-to-date with the fleet-wide innovations like the adults-only Serenity retreat with its own pool and full bar service, the Punchliner Comedy Club, a wedding chapel, a state-of-the-art 14,500-square-foot fitness center, plus a corkscrew water slide in the Waterworks aqua park. The Carnival Miracle will undergo another dry dock in March 2015 to add even more Fun Ship 2.0 features.

Carnival Legend goes to Alaska.
After a multi-million dollar Funship 2.0 refurbishment, the Carnival Legend now has a bunch of new features, including WaterWorks aqua park with the fastest and steepest water slide at sea,  and the RedFrog Pub, a Caribbean-inspired bar serving the line’s private label draught brew, ThirstyFrog Red. My favorite, Bonsai Sushi restaurant was added along with  Cherry On Top, a sort of old-fashioned candy store.

Beginning on May 26, 2015, the Carnival Legend will homeport in Seattle for a season of 16 week-long Alaska cruises through September 8, 2015, departing each Tuesday. Port calls on these Alaska voyages include visits to Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan, as well as Victoria and cruising Tracy Arm Fjord or sailing Glacier Bay.

The Carnival Legend will also offer a special one-time eight-day Glacier Bay voyage departing Vancouver May 18 and arriving in Seattle May 26, 2015.

Hawaii Calls.
After a season in Australia, the Carnival Legend will cruise to Hawaii, then depart on May 7, 2015  for an 11-night sailing around the Hawaiian Islands and onto Vancouver. Before crossing the Pacific Ocean, the Carnival Legend will visit Kauai, Maui, Hilo and Kona, and include an overnight call in Honolulu.

In addition to the Carnival Legend’s 11-day cruise from Hawaii to Canada, there will be three more Hawaii sailings in 2015-2016. The Carnival Miracle, based in Long Beach, will offer three 15-day voyages in October and November 2015, and November 2016.

Reservations for these new itineraries are now open for booking. For me, the Honolulu to Vancouver voyage is special because it includes two ports on the Big Island, Kona and Hilo. Most Hawaiian Island cruises only stop at one of those ports.
