Avalon Waterways has announced plans to cruise further into Asia by increasing their fleet – and vacation portfolio – with another Suite Ship for the Mekong River, the Avalon Saigon. This comes on the heels of unveiling two new 36-guest Suite Ships on the Irrawaddy and Mekong Rivers in two years.

On the line’s new southeast Asia suite ships, the Avalon Saigon, Avalon Myanmar, and Avalon Siem Reap, guests are welcomed by 18 suites with 245 square feet of living space. The vessel will introduce travelers in Asia to Avalon’s signature open-air balconies with floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows with doors that slide open a full 9 feet – creating the feeling of sitting outside. Facing the windows are the line’s Comfort Collection Beds, which gives guests a beautiful view even when lounging under the covers.

In addition to introducing the new Avalon Saigon, the company is adding a new itinerary to explore Vietnam and Cambodia. The Heart of Cambodia & Vietnam is an 18-day journey where travelers will not only enjoy a cruise on the Mekong River, but after flying to Hanoi will also embark on a two-day cruise of Ha Long Bay.

Avalon Waterways also offers dozens of vacation extension options on both their Mekong and Irrawaddy itineraries. For example, those booking a 13-day Fascinating Vietnam, Cambodia, & the Mekong River voyage can add stays in Bangkok and/or Luang Prabang to their journey. Travelers who book the 14-day Golden Myanmar & the Alluring Irrawaddy itinerary can add Bangkok and/or Inle Lake to their vacation.
