Disney Provides Construction Update on Newest Cruise Ship
Disney Cruise Line is eagerly anticipating the debut of their new ship, Disney Treasure, at the end of 2024. While details about the new amenities have been shared, there hasn’t been a recent construction update until July 5, 2024.
The new ship will feature six pools, including the AquaMouse attraction, a 760-foot long waterslide and roller coaster. The ship will also introduce Funnel Vision and the Funnel Vision stage for events and movie screenings.
Construction progress has been steady since the start in January 2023. Key milestones include the steel-cutting ceremony, keel laying, bridge block installation, and the addition of iconic funnels. The ship’s structural construction was completed in December 2023, allowing crews to work on onboard amenities and design.
Upcoming events include the float out ceremony, where the ship will officially touch the ocean, followed by sea trials. Disney Treasure will embark on her maiden voyage from Port Canaveral, Florida on December 21, 2024.
