Building of Carnival Horizon Coming Along Right On Schedule
Carnival Horizon Takes Shape at the Shipyard
Construction of Carnival Cruise Line’s newest ship, the 133,500-ton Carnival Horizon, is moving along right on schedule at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy.
The building of Carnival Horizon is taking shape – from the Dr. Seuss-themed WaterWorks aqua park and the 270-square-foot Seaside Theatre poolside LED screen to a wide variety of indoor and outdoor dining, beverage and entertainment venues. All in preparation for Carnival Horizon’s April 2018 maiden voyage.

Carnival Horizon is scheduled to debut April 2, 2018, when it sets out on a 13-day Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona. Three more round-trip departures from Barcelona are planned. On May 9, 2018, Carnival Horizon departs from Barcelona for a 14-day transatlantic crossing from Barcelona to New York.
The new ship will then begin summertime cruises from New York on a series of four-day Bermuda and eight-day Caribbean round-trip cruises from NYC.
In mid-September, Carnival Horizon will cruise on down to Miami to begin a year-round schedule of six- and eight-day Caribbean cruises beginning on Sept. 22, 2018.
But before the new cruise schedule begins, Carnival Horizon will also offer a special two-day cruise to Nassau from Miami Sept. 20-22, 2018.
