Royal Caribbean Keeps Kids Busy Day and Night

Royal Caribbean’s kids cruise programs for all ages

Family cruising is huge, right? With so many contemporary cruise lines offering youth programs, cartoon character affiliations and more outdoor activities than your local parks and rec, how do you decide what cruise line offers the most age-appropriate, safe and fun programs?

Let’s start with Royal Caribbean. I call them infants, but Royal Caribbean calls them Royal Babies (6 to 18 months) and Royal Tots (18 t0 36 months.)  Aside from the Royal Nursery (for a fee) there are day-time, structured parent and baby play time sessions. Because of their affiliation with Fisher-Price, parents can guide their kids through mazes, “cook” in toy kitchens and exercise little muscles on the baby gym equipment.

Once past three years old and completely toilet trained and out of diapers, kids can enter the Adventure Ocean Youth Program. From ages three to eleven years, the choices seem endless, ranging from social events to Crayola brand arts & crafts to theater lessons, ice cream parties, kid movies and more. Tweens and Teens have their freedom to come and go and can take part in supervised sports competitions, karaoke events, mocktail and dance parties, with a Teen Center open until 2am.
