Just booked an extended balcony (4158) on Nieuw Amsterdam based on your recommendation for our 50th Anniv. It will be a wonderful 21 day cruise with this big balcony. We prefer more outside space than inside so this is perfect!

Hi Marc,
Thank you for reading my review. Some cruise lines are more lax than others in enforcing their no smoking policies. Then again, it can be difficult for security to “catch” the culprit who is smoking on their balcony. I totally understand your concern. I’ve never had a problem with someone smoking cigarettes or whatever next door or nearby my stateroom on Holland America. Only on MSC in Europe did I find it to be a major issue.

Nice review.

I am concerned about smoking and vaping on board. Recently had a terrible experience on another cruise line.
