Yes I’d love to visit some of the alpine towns and villages of Austria. There just never seems to be enough time! I will look into staying in those two locales that you mention…it could end up being material for very interesting articles. Thank you for you suggestion.

Dockage in major cities may be determined as late as 2-3 weeks before arrival. However, Viking will let you know as soon as it is confirmed. You can log on to MyVikingJourney.com (you probably already have) and go to My Journey Details > Voyage Documents. If the docking space has been decided you’ll be able to scroll down in the online booklet and see the docking information printed. You or your travel agent can also call their reservations department and ask them about the docking. If you go to Google Earth, sometimes you can get an aerial view of the river ships along the bank.

Generally, docking in Vienna isn’t within a short walking distance to the city center and shuttle service will be provided. But maybe your ship will have a prime location. Have a memorable vacation!
