Crystal Cruises Announces 2019 President’s Cruise
Crystal River Cruises – President’s Cruise on the Moselle
In 2019, Crystal President & CEO Tom Wolber and his wife Sharon will host their annual cruise, this time aboard Crystal River Cruises new Crystal Bach. Launched in 2017, Crystal Bach elegantly accommodates only 110 guests. Special events onboard the President’s Cruise include cocktail receptions, a Q & A session and a special shoreside experience. The 10-day “Enchanting Moselle” will cruise along the beautiful Moselle river past steep slope vineyards, Roman ruins and charming German towns and villages.
Though less traveled than the Rhine or Danube rivers, the Moselle, or Mosel in German, there’s as much to see and do on this river as any other. Especially if you’re interested in wines. You’ll have a chance to sip world-class Rieslings and other vintages popular in the Mosel Wine Region in Bernkastel. Try a visit to Reichsburg Castle and absorb the medieval charm of Cochem. No visit to Trier is complete without a stop at the Roman ruins and a walk through the Roman Porta Nigra or Black Gate, in Trier, that once marked the entrance to the city.
“I always look forward to the President’s Cruise each year, as it’s a wonderful opportunity to combine two things about which I am passionate – world travel and connecting with our Crystal guests,” Wolber said. “The Moselle River is considered to be one of the most breathtaking stretches of river in Europe and one of my favorites. There is Roman architecture around every bend, rolling Riesling vineyards, and quaint towns and villages that each display their own distinct character. I am looking forward to sharing this voyage with our guests.”
President’s Cruise itinerary
This Moselle river cruise sails round-trip from Amsterdam all the way to Trier, Germany. This means you’ll have the opportunity to experience two rivers; the Rhine and the Moselle. Ports on the Rhine include Bonn, Germany – the birthplace of Beethoven; Dusseldorf – regarded as Germany’s fashion capital and Koblenz, situated at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle where you’ll find plenty of boutique shops, quirky statues and bustling cafés. Overnights are planned for the bookend ports of Amsterdam and the turnaround port of Trier.
