Tropical Storm Beryl forces Royal Caribbean to delay and reroute cruise
Over the past week, Hurricane Beryl has been causing trouble in the Caribbean, leading several cruise lines to change their routes for the safety of passengers and crews. Now, as the storm heads towards Texas, Royal Caribbean had to make arrangements for the Mariner of the Seas cruise ship in Galveston.
Originally scheduled to return on July 8, the ship is now sailing away from Texas to avoid the storm, delaying its return until July 9. This means that the next cruise will also embark a day late. The revised itinerary will exclude Costa Maya, Mexico, due to time constraints, but Cozumel will still be visited on July 11.
Guests impacted by the changes will be compensated for any inconvenience. Despite the delays, future cruises remain unaffected, with the next sailing set to embark on July 13.
Hurricane Beryl is forecasted to hit Texas as a Category 1 hurricane, bringing heavy rainfall and potentially life-threatening conditions. The Port of Galveston will be closed to maritime traffic as a precaution.
Stay tuned for updates on the storm’s progress.
