Carnival Fascination Health Inspection Gets Perfect Score

Carnival Fascination given a 100 by United States Public Health department.

Cruise ship staff never really knows when an inspector from the USPH will step onboard, clipboard in hand, and start examining everything from floor tiles and soup temperatures to swimming pool cleanliness and drinking water.

Last week, following one of the twice-yearly surprise health inspections, the Carnival Fascination happily received its glowing score.

In order to receive a 100 score, cruise ships must be given perfect marks on all of the 44 items on the Vessel Sanitation Program checklist. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) began the VSP program to “prevent and control the introduction, transmission, and spread of gastrointestinal (GI) illnesses on cruise ships” according to the CDC.

With its “Salute to Hollywood” theme permeating many of the public rooms, the Carnival Fascination is doing really well, considering it was pout into service in 1994, considered old by today’s standards.

Carrying 2,052 passengers, the Carnival Fascination cruises from Jacksonville on 4- and 5-night Bahamas sailings through April 14, 2016. Then the ship will head out on a 6-night cruise from Jacksonville to San Juan, Puerto Rico and begin 7-night Caribbean itineraries for the summer and reposition to Miami on October 30, 2016. From Miami, the Carnival Fascination will sail on 4-night cruises roundtrip from Miami to the Bahamas and Mexico until April 2017. Got that?
