Hi Paul and thanks for your comment. Glad to learn that you’ll spend a couple of days in Budapest. It’s really a most incredible city. And there definitely was a very dark part of history in Budapest. If you can, stop in at a Ruin Pub if only just to see it. They are mostly in the old Jewish Quarter…the Seventh District. I haven’t been but I’m very curious to see them.

I’m booked next month on a river cruise that does end in the city, and I’ve added a couple of days to the trip, as you suggest. It looks as though there’ll be lots to see. Good to know a little about the city’s darker past, as well — in Europe, that’s unfortunately all too common.
