Carnival Magic Refurbishment Adds More Tasty and Fun Hotspots
Carnival Magic Refurbishment Adds and Expands New Dining and Beverage Options.
If you didn’t already know, the Carnival Magic will move to Port Canaveral in mid-April. But before the 130,000-ton ship heads to a new home on Florida’s Space Coast, the Carnival Magic will undergo a multi-million dollar renovation and refurbishment. The Carnival Magic will then be up to speed with many of the onboard features and venues found on other Carnival ships.
Taking a break from the ship’s current home in Galveston, the ship is now in dry dock until March 6, 2016. When the makeover is complete, the Carnival Magic will emerge with:
Guyโs Burger Joint
A poolside venue developed in partnership with Food Network celebrity Guy Fieri serving complimentary hand-crafted burgers and fresh-cut fries in an atmosphere that celebrates the chefโs California roots and love of car culture.
RedFrog Rum Bar
Another poolside option, the RedFrog Rum Bar will offer refreshing Caribbean rum-based frozen drinks and beers, including Carnivalโs own ThirstyFrog Red.
BlueIguana Tequila Bar
Also on the pool deck, this festive Mexican-themed outdoor bar serves tequila-based frozen drinks and beers.
Pizzeria del Capitano
An expanded Cucina del Capitano, this family-style Italian eatery features hand-tossed artisanal-style pizza, available free of charge 24 hours a day.
Alchemy Bar
A cocktail โpharmacy,โ lab coat clad mixologists โprescribeโ all sorts of creative cocktails from different elixirs and ingredients or guestsโ own custom-created cocktails.
There are plenty of family-friendly activities and venues for kids and parents including the SportSquare outdoor recreation area with a suspended ropes course offering views to the sea 150 feet below.
For kids ages 2- to 17-years old there’s Camp Ocean (ages 2-11), Circle โCโ (12-14) and Club O2 (15-17), along with Seuss at Sea (as in Dr. Seuss, in an exclusive partnership with Carnival).
After the refurbishment, the Carnival Magic will return to Galveston to finish up its spring season of Caribbean cruises. Then it’s onto Port Canaveral for an April 20, 2016 special 3-night Bahamas cruise from Port Canaveral. The ship will then begin a series of 7-night eastern and western Caribbean cruises.
The eastern Caribbean itinerary will visit St. Thomas, San Juan, Grand Turk and Nassau or Amber Cove. A western Caribbean route will call at Cozumel, Belize, Mahogany Bay (Isla Roatan) and Costa Maya.
