Carnival Cruise Line Begins Winter Cruises from San Diego
Carnival Cruise Line returned to the Port of San Diego this past weekend to begin winter itineraries of three- to 15-day cruises aboard Carnival Miracle. This is the first time in seven years that Carnival has had a cruise from San Diego.
Carnival Miracle Cruises from San Diego
Over the course of this winter season, Carnival Miracle has an interesting and varied line-up of cruises from San Diego.
• Three-day weekend cruises to Ensenada departing on Dec. 27, 2019 and Jan. 3, 2020.
• Five-day cruises that will depart on Dec. 22, 2019, and Jan. 12, 2020. These include two days in Cabo San Lucas.
• One four-day New Year’s Baja Mexico cruise to Catalina Island and Ensenada. Pre-New Year’s Eve departure on Dec. 30, 2019.
• A six-day cruise spending two days in Cabo San Lucas followed by a full day spent in Ensenada, departing Jan. 6, 2020.
• Two longer Carnival Journeys cruises from San Diego to Hawai’i are scheduled; one 14-day and one 15-day cruise to the Hawai’ian Islands. Departures for these are Dec. 8, 2019 and Jan. 17, 2020, respectively.
• When it’s time for Carnival Miracle to return to Miami, there’s a 13-day Panama Canal transit sailing from San Diego to Miami on Feb. 1-14, 2020.
Refurbished in 2015, the 2,124-passenger Carnival Miracle now has many of the line’s signature dining, entertainment and accommodations choices. You’ll find the popular RedFrog Pub, Alchemy Bar, specialty dining includes Nick and Nora’s Steakhouse. There’s a waterpark with the Twister waterslide, Club Ocean for kids and Serenity Retreat adult outdoor lounge area.
“We’re delighted to return to the Port of San Diego to offer this diverse schedule of convenient and attractive voyages for our guests,” said Fred Stein, Carnival’s vice president of revenue, deployment and itinerary planning. “The West Coast is an important and fast-growing market for Carnival and these departures from San Diego provide guests a wide array of exciting cruise choices with stops along Baja Mexico, the Mexican Riviera and Hawaii.”
In winter 2020-2021, Carnival Miracle will return for cruises from San Diego to Mexico and California’s Catalina Island.
Carnival is expanding their deployment of ships from the West Coast. There’ll be cruises from San Francisco to Alaska, Hawai’i and Baja Mexico. The new Carnival Panorama arrives in Long Beach on December 11 for year-round cruises to Mexico and Central America. Carnival Panorama will be the first new Carnival ship in Southern California in 20 years.
