Carnival Freedom Moves from Ft. Lauderdale to Galveston in 2015

Three’s Company as Carnival Freedom Joins the Magic and Triumph.

Carnival Cruise Line announced that the Carnival Freedom will relocate from Ft. Lauderdale to Galveston next spring. It’s the first time that three Carnival ships will call Galveston their homeport, and offer a choice of four- to seven-day year-round cruises.

Before the Carnival Freedom departs from Florida for her new home in the Lone Star state, the ship will undergo a multi-million dollar makeover, featuring many of the popular features in Carnival’s Fun Ship 2.0 fleet-wide enhancements and innovations.

What’s included in the Freedom’s Fun Ship 2.0 makeover?

• Guy’s Burger Joint –  a complimentary poolside burgers and fries bar, developed in partnership with the spiked-blond hair, mustang-driving Food Network star, Guy Fieri.
• Dr. Seuss Bookville – inspired by children’s author and cartoonist, Theodor Seuss Geisel, it’s Dr. Seuss at Sea, featuring his whimsical décor, shapes and funky furniture.
• Camp Ocean – Carnival’s new marine-themed educational and fun children’s program for kids ages 2-11 years.
• Hasbro, The Game Show – where guests can participate in larger-than-life productions and entertainment activities based on the company’s iconic and popular games

Also included in the Fun Ship 2.0 makeover are the BlueIguana Cantina and RedFrog Pub plus the poolside BlueIguana Tequila Bar, RedFrog Rum Bar. A full list of enhancements to the Carnival Freedom can be found here.

Four- and five-day cruises.
Carnival Freedom will offer a series of four- and five-day cruises from Oct. 24 through Nov. 21, 2015; and Jan. 16, 2016 through Feb. 13, 2016. The our-day cruises visit Cozumel, while five-day cruises call at Cozumel and Progreso, Mexico.

Or choose from three different week-long cruises. 
Beginning February 21, 2015, Carnival Freedom’s Saturday departure, seven-night itineraries from Galveston will alternate between two western Caribbean cruises to either Cozumel, Belize and Mahogany Bay, Roatan or Montego Bay, Jamaica; George Town, Grand Cayman; and Cozumel. There’s also an eastern Caribbean itinerary that visits Key West, Fla. and Freeport and Nassau, The Bahamas.

Head to the ultra-tropical southern Caribbean on a fabulous 12-night voyage from Ft. Lauderdale to Galveston on February 2, 2015. Carnival Freedom will feature port calls at five unrivaled Caribbean island destinations – St. Kitts, St. Lucia; Curacao; Aruba; and Grand Cayman.

With the addition of the Carnival Freedom, the three ships will carry over 600,000 guests a year from Galveston, more than any other cruise line from that port.
