Small Ship Cruise Line is Approved for Cuba Cruises from Fort Lauderdale
Pearl Seas gets approval to begin Cuba cruises from Fort Lauderdale.
Beginning January 2017, Pearl Seas Cruises will begin a seasonal series of Cuba cruises from Fort Lauderdale. This is good news for those who prefer a truly small ship experience and also for those who don’t want to drive the extra distance to Miami. Pearl Seas will be the first in this new wave of cruise lines to visit Cuba in 2017.
The 210-guest Pearl Mist will offer 10-night cruises to Cuba beginning on January 17, 2017. The itinerary will include a visit to Havana and will also circumnavigate the island. Other ports visited will include Cienfuegos, Trinidad, and Santiago de Cuba.
In keeping with the US Treasury restrictions and because the ship holds fewer guests than the larger ships that begin Cuba cruises in March, Pearl Seas will be able to provide a more personalized people-to-people cultural program. As it can get a little bumpy crossing the Florida Straits, the new Pearl Mist is fully stabilized and features the latest navigation and safety technology.
“There is significant demand to visit Cuba on a smaller ship and we are honored to be among the first cruise lines to have access to the country,” said Timothy Beebe, Vice President of Pearl Seas Cruises.
The company has 11 cruises planned during January through May of 2017
