Royal Caribbean Adds Enhancements to “Cruise With Confidence” Policy

In encourage to wannabee cruisers to book a cruise, Royal Caribbean International added more leeway to their Cruise With Confidence cancellation policy.

Already in place, Royal Caribbean’s Cruise With Confidence policy is now extended to cover cruises through April 2022.

Cruise with Confidence New Options

Keep in mind that Royal Caribbean’s Cruise With Confidence program applies to Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara.

Currently, new and existing bookings created by August 1, 2020 can be canceled up to 48 hours prior to sailing. You will receive a full credit of the cruise fare. The credit can be applied to any future cruise through April 2022.

With the updated policy, there are two new rebooking options. The first enhancement is called “Best Price Guarantee”. This allows a change of price (lower) and promotional offer on your reservation up to 48 hours before your cruise. If you should find a price drop or a great promotion, Royal Caribbean will now honor the new rate or benefit.

“Lift and Shift” is the second enhancement to Cruise With Confidence promotion. Up to 48 hours before your cruise, you can change your sailing with the same itinerary to a future date. You’ll keep the original price and promotional offer from your current reservation. This will also cover your selected stateroom category as well as the length of your original cruise. Also, the new booking must be within the same 4-week period of the original cruise date.

The new updates to Royal Caribbean’s cancellation policy would give cruisers a bit more flexibility should they want to cancel, as well as financially help the cruise line fill their coffers.

Keep in mind, in order to use the new Cruise With Confidence policy, this must be an active booking – not previously cancelled – and no other cancellation offers previously accepted.

If you decide to cancel your cruise

As always, anyone who wants to cancel before final payment will receive a full refund of all monies paid to-date. Funds will be returned as a Future Cruise Credit if you booked under a non-refundable deposit promotion. 

Here’s the catch:  If you cancel after final payment and don’t choose to use the Cruise With Confidence Program, standard cancellation penalties will apply.
