Disney Fantasy Adds Longer Cruises from Port Canaveral 2017
Disney Fantasy
New 10- and 11-night cruises from Port Canaveral to southern Caribbean aboard Disney Fantasy.
In a switch from 2,713 passenger Disney Magic doing longer itineraries, soon the larger Disney Fantasy will take over the job.
Built in 2012, the Disney Fantasy accommodates up to 4,000 guests rather than the smaller 1998 Disney Magic. The Disney Magic is the first ship in the Disney fleet and was based at Port Canaveral for several years after the ship’s debut.
I was excited to hear the news about the longer cruises, thinking there were several sailings from which to choose. Unfortunately, there is only one 10-night and one 11-night sailing. Expect the Fantasy to sell out for those two cruises. Don’t wait to book if you want to go.
When and where
June 17, 2017: Disney Fantasy sets out on an 11-night cruise from Port Canaveral to call on Aruba, Barbados, Martinique, St. Kitts, Tortola and their private island Castaway Cay in the Bahamas.
June 28, 2017: 10-night itinerary includes visits to Aruba, Curaรงao, St. Kitts, Tortola and Castaway Cay.
Already based in Port Canaveral, the Fantasy currently cruises 7-night alternating eastern and western Caribbean cruises.
There are even longer cruises planned from Port Canaveral when repositioning begins. This year the Disney Magic will depart from Port Canaveral on May 15 stopping at the ports of Boston, MA; Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada; Dublin, Ireland; Liverpool, England and finally Dover, England.
Just released news, on May 13, 2017 the Disney Magic embarks on a 15-night transatlantic crossing from Port Canaveral, Florida, to Copenhagen, Denmark with a first-time visit to Amsterdam. Also included is a maiden call at Portland, England.
Summer of 2017 will find the two largest ships, Disney Fantasy and the Disney Dream at Port Canaveral along with Disney Wonder during the spring.
Three Disney ships based at Port Canaveral at one time. For those who love Disney Cruise Line, 2017 is looking good!
