Carnival Sends Smaller Ship to Alaska in 2020
Carnival Spirit heads back to Alaska!
Great news for Carnival lovers and small(er) ship enthusiasts. Carnival Spirit will head back to North America from Australia in 2020 with Alaska and Hawai’i cruises.
Carnival Spirit, with only 2,124 passengers falls into the medium-size cruise ship category by today’s standard. If a 5,000-passenger cruise ship to Alaska or Hawai’i seems a bit much, then Carnival Spirit could be a good choice. Personally, the 2,000 + range is one of my favorite size of cruise ship. There’s plenty to do yet you’re not overwhelmed by the massive size.
Eighty percent of Carnival Spirit staterooms have either an ocean view or balcony. Most important, especially on an Alaska cruise, is plenty of outdoor space and Carnival Spirit has that, too. Plus, a 14,500-square-foot health and wellness center, a variety of dining and beverage options, and supervised programs for kids ages 2-17.

Carnival’s cruise rates won’t break your budget, and that could leave you with more to spend on shore excursions. Alaska’s shore excursions can get expensive if you choose things like glacier hikes or anything that involves a plane ride to get there.
Looking ahead to 2020
Carnival Spirit will offer 18 seven-day Alaska cruises, as well as two eight-day voyages and a nine-day departure, from the Port of Seattle beginning April through September 2020. These cruises include stops at the stunning destinations of Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan, as well as Victoria, B.C, Tracy Arm Fjord, Icy Strait Point, and a day-long call in Sitka.
Carnival Spirit will have a 10-day Carnival Journeys from Vancouver to Honolulu departing April 10, 2020. There will also be an 11-day sailing from Honolulu to Vancouver departing September 25.
